Round 4 Results

Here's the winners according to my advanced mathematics:
Scott: Jude the Obscure by Thomas Hardy
Myles: Tie between Decision Points and In 50 Years We'll All Be Chicks
Jon: The Great Divorce and The Problem of Pain by C.S. Lewis
Brandon: Twelfth Night and Antony and Cleopatra by William Shakespeare
Joe: Under a Wild Sky by William Souder

Is everyone okay if we read and host them in that order (as long as we get a tiebreaker for myles by then?).
So, for January, we'll read Jude the Obscure and so on.  Seems like an appropriately depressing book for January.

Anyone planning on getting together for december?  I won't be here for the rest of them month, so what do I care?

  1. Our November meeting was in early December. I'd be fine with waiting until you get back.

    I'm fine with the schedule.

  2. It just felt like December. November meeting was November 30.

If Aaron got a chance to correct his ballot (he voted for Jude twice), it might sway the winner among Scott's nominations.

  3. If at all possible, I would like to host sometime other than January. January is the heaviest time for calls for me at work and I am dead tired by the time the day ends. I can still do it, it would just be a bit easier for me to host a different month.

  4. Joe, I emailed Aaron about his vote and he said he meant to have Dorian Gray at 4 pts. So the results are the same.

Scott, what if we switch you and Jon's spot? Both the Problem of Pain and The Great Divorce are pretty short reads, so we can finish them by January.

  5. That would be great. I would appreciate that alot.

  6. I can host in January. Is January 20th the day? Does this work for everyone? We must think of something very painful to do that day.

  7. I could probably make the 20th, but another week's time would help my chances of finishing the books.

  8. The 27th it is. Are there any conflicts with that date?

  9. Should we say 8? I was thinking we could go night skiing at Sundance--though this may be expensive--or we could just come to my house and have a fire in the backyard with hot chocolate. It would kind of be like snow camping. Any other suggestions?

  10. My lack of skiing skills would supply some pain for the discussion. It looks like night skiing lift tickets are $35.

  11. I'm voting for the backyard fire option.

  12. Got snow shoes but no skis. Back yard fire is great. I need to get me one of those.

  13. I vote hot chocolate myself. Knowing my abilities on things like skateboards and skates, I can only imagine how bad I would be on skis =)

Myles, any decision on which book we'll read in February?

  14. Do I get to be the tie-breaker?

  15. Or we could all vote on the two finalists? I am okay with either option.

  16. If we assume that everyone will order them the same as they did in their original votes, then the vote is Decision Points 3 to 50 years 1.

  17. I just bought Decision Points, based on the original votes.
